WHEN Events

WHEN held its Summer educational program "Florida Healthcare Legislative Updates" on June 25th at Florida International University, sponsored by the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Robert Stempel School of Public Health.

Marco Carrasco, Regional Director of Operation for State of Florida Preferred Care Partners Management Group and Administrator of West Gables Health Care Center, shared legislative effects on long term care facilities. (Presentation available for viewing). Our second speaker, Ana Maria Rodriguez, Government and Community Relations Specialist for Baptist Health of South Florida, shared her insightful views of the effects of the Florida budget cuts to South Florida’s healthcare industry as well as the industry’s continuing concern relating to the nursing shortage.
